T.Callow & Sons - 8 Park Lane , London

Callow of 16 Mount Street were originally founded in 1841 by Thomas Callow. They mostly used their Park Lane address on their makers stamps .By 1852 the firm became Thomas Callow & Son, changing to Oscar Callow in 1925.

Andrews

Andrews of Oxford , Henry Andrews took over the business of William Denyer, a Saddler at 141 High Street Oxford from 1861 to 1875 . Henry Andrews - saddle & harness maker ( later H&E Andrews) continued the business at this address until 1918 

Maxwell

Henry Maxwell founded the business in 1730 . Horns stamped 161 Piccadilly date to before 1920 when they moved to the 8 & 9 Dover Street address . The business later moved to its current address 83 Jermyn Street 

 

Champion & Wilton

Established in 1786 by Mathew Wilson in Oxford Street, In 1825 they joined Wilkinson & Co becoming Wilson & Wilkinson. In 1855Henry Champion bought the company & it became Wilkinson & Champion. The company was again sold in 1875 to Henry Wilton to become Champion & Wilton. In 1940 they bought Whippy Steggall & in 1958 they moved to North Audley Street . The company was sold to W.H.Giddon Ltd in 1961

Parker & Sons

I have a catalogue for Geo Parker & Sons which states that they were established in 1851 at 17,18 &19 Upper St Martins Lane , London W C 2. There have been various  saddlers using the name Parker – George Parker & Sons, Parker Bros and  Parker & Parker of 10 & 11 Upper St.Martins Lane, London WC . George Parker & Sons were registered at 12 Upper St Martins Lane in 1927

Whippy Stegall & Co , Saddlers , Established 1782 , operating from 30 North Audley Street  until 1940 when they were bought out by Champion & Wilton

Merry & Co

Merry & Company (Saddlers) were at 4 St James's Street, Piccadilly ,SW1 Circa 1883 to 1951 .Owned by e Merry Owen & Arthur Trepass . Saddlemakers & providers of Whips , Racing Equipment & Sporting Gear

George Smith

One of the few horn makers from outside London , George Smith was the son of John Smith , an instrument maker who manufactured for Key's from 1805 to 1812. One of 3 brothers all instrument makers. He was at 2 Bilston St , Birmingham from 1818 to 1830 & from 1830 to 1846 at 144 Snow Hill . Birmingham

Paxman

Founded in 1919 by brothers Harry , Bertram & William Paxman , they started from an address in Southwark near London Bridge in South london. They are manufacturers of top quality French horns. Their hunting horns are stamped Supplied by Paxman

Schomberg

G.Schomberg listed in the 1899 Directories at 38 Brompton Road London

Austen 

Joseph Austen of Cork in business from 1791 until 1846 .The business was then taken over by the Gibbings family , iron mongers of 93 & 94 North Main Street Cork , horns after 1846 still bear the Austen Stamp but with addition of the North Main Street address. They formed the Munster Iron Company in 1850 but continued to use the Austen stamp on their products until around 1880.
