Rare 11 3/4 inch Victorian hunting horn by J.Higham ,131 Strangeways, Manchester

This fantastic, rare 11 3/4 inch Victorian hunting horn was made by the Manchester maker J.Higham . Copper dovetailed construction with a plated stem & bell rim and a white metal stem & brass mouthpiece during the late 19th Century. The horn is marked with the impressed 'J.Higham - Maker - 131 Strangeways -Manchester' stamp The horn has some age wear & knocks to the surface, which is common in pieces of this vintage, but this does not detract from its otherwise very good condition, with no cracks or restoration. It measures approximately 11 3/4 inches in length. The bell diameter is approx 2 inches
