Vintage late 1920's White Celluloid Coated Thunderer Escargot Police Whistle , used in sub zero temperatures to prevent lips sticking to metal . Used by New York , Chicaco traffic police etc. Has a lovely marble effect plastic mouthpiece & end cap. Would probably have originally had an ink stamp to the side panel but this has worn away.The pea has a hole drilled through it.
